Sustainable Living by Andjela

Living with Nature, Not Just in It

At FitCamp Montenegro, nature isn’t just a backdrop – it’s our way of life. Here, under star-filled skies and surrounded by untouched landscapes, sustainability happens naturally. We collect rainfall for water, compost our food waste, and respect the land that sustains us. Every small action is part of a bigger cycle – one that keeps us connected to the earth in a way that feels both grounding and freeing.

Andjela, the founder of FitCamp Montenegro, leading the Naturopathy and Sustainability workshops

Permaculture is at the heart of what we do. We plant, grow, and harvest in harmony with nature, without disturbing the delicate ecosystems around us. Seeding with intention, observing how plants and wildlife interact, and working with nature rather than against it – this is how we create abundance without excess. The land teaches us patience, resilience, and balance, and in return, we care for it with the same love and respect it gives us.

But living well isn’t just about what we grow – it’s also about how we heal. Naturopathy, the ancient art of natural medicine, reminds us that true well-being is a balance of body, mind, and spirit. From the food we eat to the air we breathe, from movement to rest, everything plays a role in our health. In a world that often pulls us away from our natural rhythms, reconnecting with simple, time-tested practices can be transformative.

At FitCamp, you’ll experience this firsthand – nourishing yourself with real food, moving with purpose, and embracing the rhythms of nature. Sustainability isn’t just about the environment; it’s about sustaining yourself in a way that feels whole and fulfilling.

Come, breathe it in, feel the earth beneath you, and remember – nature has always known the way.

Mindfulness by Kristina

Your Personal Journey to the Present Moment

Have you ever caught yourself lost in thoughts about the past or worrying about the future? Mindfulness is the ability to stay fully present, noticing and experiencing life as it unfolds.

Kristina, the FitCamp Montenegro psychologist, leading the Mindfulness Workshop

The benefits? Reduced anxiety, better sleep, less stress, and an overall improved quality of life. It helps you stay centered, focused, and better equipped to handle daily challenges. But mindfulness isn’t about eliminating stress – it’s about learning how to navigate it with awareness and ease.

At FitCamp Montenegro, we believe mindfulness should be simple, practical, and sustainable. You already have everything you need – your body, breath, and awareness. The key is learning how to use them to stay present, no matter what’s happening around you.

Immersing yourself in an activity – whether movement, breathing, or time in nature – naturally shifts your focus away from stress. And that’s exactly what we do at FitCamp.

Here, nature is an essential part of your mindfulness journey. Walking barefoot on our Barefoot Trail, hiking the Heart Trail in silence or conversation, or meditating under the stars – these experiences deepen your connection to the present moment.

Your Personal Mindfulness Toolbox

The best part? You won’t leave empty-handed. Every guest creates a Mindfulness Map – a simple, personalised system to integrate mindfulness into daily life. So, no matter where you go, you’ll have the tools to stay grounded, present, and truly connected.

Are you ready to begin?

Holistic Nutrition by Biljana

Nourishing the Whole You

Have you ever thought about food as more than just what’s on your plate? Holistic nutrition is about balance – nourishing not just your body but also your mind and emotions. Everything we take in – through food, air, sunlight, social connections, and even the energy around us – shapes who we are.

Before we talk about what to eat, let’s redefine food. To me, food is anything that nourishes us. And toxins? Anything we absorb that doesn’t serve us – whether from processed foods, stress, or even the negativity we expose ourselves to.

Biljana, the FitCamp Montenegro Holistic Nutritionist, leading the Nutrition Workshop

What Truly Feeds You?

Nutrition isn’t just about calories and vitamins. It includes:

  • 🌿 The air we breathe
  • ☀️ Time spent in the sun and nature
  • 💛 The energy we absorb from people and places
  • 📖 The information we take in – books, music, social media

All of this impacts our health as much as the food we eat.

How to Start Your Nutrition Journey

Instead of strict rules, I encourage small, sustainable shifts:

  • 🥕 Eat Whole Foods – Minimise processed foods to keep essential nutrients intact.
  • 🌈 Choose Seasonal Variety – Different colours offer different benefits – eat the rainbow!
  • 🍽 Practice Mindful Eating – Slow down, savour your food, and avoid distractions.
  • 📚 Stay Curious – Learn about nutrition and listen to what your body truly needs.

At FitCamp Montenegro, I love sharing simple yet powerful nutrition insights – often in nature, where we connect on a deeper level. And because food is meant to be enjoyed, we always wrap up with a hands-on session, preparing nourishing meals together.

Holistic nutrition is a journey – let’s take it one mindful bite at a time!

Yoga & Breathing by Tamara

The Art of Balance

Yoga is more than movement – it’s a way of life, a journey back to balance. Thousands of years old, this practice teaches us to reconnect with what we truly are: body, mind, spirit, and energy. Through asanas (physical postures), breathing techniques, and meditation, we restore equilibrium, learning to move, breathe, and live with greater awareness.

Tamara, the FitCamp Montenegro Yoga Instructor, leading Yoga, Meditation and Breathing Classes

When was the last time you truly listened to your body? Yoga invites you to do just that. Each stretch, each breath, reveals something new. The more we move with intention, the more we recognise the signals and energy blockages we often ignore. As our bodies become more fluid, so do our thoughts and emotions. A relaxed body fosters a relaxed mind – and isn’t that what we all seek?

Breath is more than just air – it’s life itself. By mastering our breath, we channel prana (life energy), allowing it to nourish, cleanse, and energise us. Breathing techniques help regulate stress, emotions, and energy levels, giving us a tool we can carry beyond the yoga mat into everyday life.

Now, imagine practising yoga under the open sky, feeling the earth beneath you, surrounded by the rhythm of nature – birds singing, leaves rustling, the wind carrying your breath. That’s the essence of our yoga practice at FitCamp Montenegro.

Nature grounds us, pulling us out of our busy minds and into the present moment. Here, spirituality unfolds effortlessly, and healing happens naturally.

I’ll be here to guide your practice, but true yoga isn’t just what happens on the mat – it’s the connection you continue to nurture long after the class ends. And if you’re reading this, your journey has already begun.

Friends & Colleagues Get-together

Without a clear intention, one day in July, I decided to send an email to my dear female colleagues with whom I work and collaborate in harmony. I invited them to join me at the FitCamp estate so that we could brainstorm, test some of the FitCamp services, and explore new possibilities. What was clear and what motivated me to create that email and invite this fine selection of feminine minds was the fact that I needed support, honest feedback, a touch of friendship, and a liberating experience for my mind. Their feedback was beautiful, and the majority of the women I invited confirmed their presence.

A Perfect Day Fueled with Divine Feminine Energy, Honesty & Care

The day finally arrived. It was July 22nd, a hot Saturday afternoon. My inspirational women started arriving, and I welcomed them on the 16-meter-long terrace of the Community House.

First among them was Jasmina. It was our first in-person encounter, and we clicked immediately. She brought me a bouquet of wild medicinal herbs from Durmitor, where she had been resting with her family. Today, one month later, Jasmina and I are crafting a retreat program for 2024, which I am extremely enthusiastic about!

Following Jasmina, a car full of Bokeljke arrived (Bokeljka is a term for a woman from Boka Bay). For those who may not know, Boka Bay is my favourite part of Montenegro and a place where my soul finds solace. Daniela, Kristina, and Jelena arrived together, bringing a piece of beloved Kotor with them. I have had the privilege of working extensively with these amazing women. Kristina acts as the FitCamp mentor for our mindful workshops, which we organise for guests. Daniela is my twin soul and a partner in IconicVoid, or rather, Vomb. Jelena, one of the first Montenegrin entrepreneurs I met, has been in my circle for quite some time, and her remarkable journey reflects significant growth along the way.

After the Bay, the capital city took the stage. A car filled with women from Podgorica arrived – my sister Aleksandra, who has called Podgorica home for several years now, is my longtime colleague in endeavours to promote Montenegro worldwide; Jovana, a FitCamp mentor on mindfulness and a dear psychologist friend; and Suncica, a FitCamp yoga instructor and a beautiful soul. Working with all three of them has always been a joyful experience. I admire their approach to life. Interestingly, the women who shared car rides to come to FitCamp unintentionally formed a strong bond along the way and awakened similarities among them.

The next arrival was a solo ride. Tamara, a FitCamp yoga instructor, arranged babysitting for her twin daughters and arrived, brimming with beautiful feminine energy, to teach us the art of deep breathing. My collaboration with Tamara only began this summer, but it feels as Sagittarius arrows clicked instantly, and our partnership flows effortlessly like a river.

Next, some of my favourite Niksic women arrived. Bojana and Andja are my longtime colleagues and associates, with numerous joint projects under our belts. They are not only cherished companions for wine and gossip but also dedicated FitCamp enthusiasts. Bojana was the first to test our team-building offerings with her team. Andja hails from the same industry as I do, and we frequently embark on joint business travels, sharing professional challenges and successes along the way.

Last but certainly not least, Nada arrived with her partner Andrea. They come from Bar but travelled from Kosovo to join us this time. Nada is our favourite FitCamp photographer, a woman whose talent shines brightly through her personality. We initially connected through business, and our relationship has evolved into a strong support system for each other. Andrea was a first-time acquaintance that day, yet it felt as if I had known her forever.

The Flow

After everyone had met and engaged in the obligatory small talk, the day’s activities commenced. First, we tested Jasmina’s Poetry Workshop, which turned out to be a great source of relief, success, and almost a group therapy session. We were so engrossed in analysing and discussing each other’s work that it felt like we needed more time.

Following this intense and beautiful workshop, Tamara led us to the valley, where we comfortably sat on blankets and yoga mats, engaging in Pranayamas – breathing techniques designed to alleviate stress, anxiety, and promote overall well-being. It was a resounding success, in my opinion. What made it even lovelier was the unwavering support these women showed for each other, even though most of them had only just met that day.

After the pranayama session, we returned to the Community House and dove into the third session led by Kristina – Points of You, a mindful workshop, followed by a Mindfulness Map created specifically for our FitCamp guests. We enjoyed every moment, sharing laughter, tears, and a glass or two of wine.

As the evening approached its conclusion, it seemed as though no one was quite ready to leave. Around 9 pm, an unexpected power outage occurred, and we took it as a sign to bid each other a gradual farewell for the evening.

Shaping The Offer

The following day, I spent time at the beach, again in the company of my female companions – my mom and sister. Driven by the profound impressions from the previous day and further inspired by the beauty of Boka Bay, where I had spent my Sunday, my mind began to shape this incredible daily offer that we now officially present on our website. You can find it at this link.

Simply named “Women Who Play“, inspired by the poem by a Croatian author that Jasmina shared during her poetry workshop, this offer invites all women out there who crave stress relief, renewed vitality, and dedicated time for themselves to join us in our workshops. Sometimes, even a single day of such an experience can provide you with the wings you need to face the days ahead, be they challenging or easy. My circle of women not only helped me create and further inspired this offer but also offered their wholehearted support in promoting it to other women’s circles.

Looking Forward to Connecting with New Women’s Circles

When Nada shared her wonderful photos from our delightful day at FitCamp, my dear “Women Who Play” began posting them on social media. This is when other women started reaching out to us, enquiring about how they could join the next event of this nature.
